BC Roads and Works Minister Janardhan Reddy on Monday performed a ‘bhumi puja’ for the construction of a Zilla Parishad High School building at his native Yanakandla village in Banaganapalle mandal.
Addressing a gathering of students, parents and villagers after starting work on the new building, Mr. Janardhan Reddy said that the building was constructed at a cost of ₹2 million with the support of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and HRD Minister Nara Lokesh. The eight-room building will be completed before the start of the next academic year.
He said students from Erragudi, Govinda Dinne and Krishnapuram villages were facing difficulties in traveling to Banaganapalle for their studies. The construction of the new school will benefit students from villages near Yanakandla. “I will fulfill my dream of building a school in my village,” he said.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy also inaugurated the newly constructed internal roads and CC drains in the village. He also laid the foundation for building a TDP party office in the village.
Earlier, the minister paid a surprise visit to the anganwadi center and government primary school at Pendekanti Nagar in Sanjamala mandal headquarters of Banaganapalle assembly constituency limits. He asked the teachers to ensure 100% attendance at school and Anganwadi center. He asked the Mandal Education officials to make all the basic necessities available for 15 days at the anganwadi center.
Mr. Janardhan Reddy also distributed CMRF checks worth ₹ 25.98 lakh to 41 beneficiaries at his camp office in Banaganapalle.
