Minister for Housing and Urban Development B. Rajkumar on Saturday (July 4, 2026) inspected the progress of various development works and water management projects going on in the Cuddalore Corporation.

Accompanied by Cuddalore MP M. Vishnu Prasad and Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar, the Minister inspected the various works carried out under the AMRUT 2.0 scheme which included laying pipelines to provide protected drinking water to households in 18 districts in Manjakuppam and construction of an overhead water tank with a capacity of 12 million liters at ≥67 outlacropats.28.

The minister also inspected the ongoing construction of Anna Market in Cuddalore. The market is being built at an estimated cost of ₹ 5.03 crore and will include 120 shops. He also reviewed the construction of a two-story aquarium with internal temperature control systems.

Mr Rajkumar also inspected the construction of a sewage treatment plant at Devanampattinam at an estimated cost of ₹ 43.45 crore and an animal birth control (ABC) center at Pachaiyankuppam. He directed the officials to speed up the work, ensure quality and complete the work within the stipulated time. According to him, roads damaged by the laying of drinking water pipelines should be restored immediately.
