MI vs RR: No Bumrah vs Sooryavanshi 2.0 as Mumbai rest star pacer for last game
Fans who came to see Jasprit Bumrah take on Vaibhav Sooryavanshi at the Wankhede Stadium were disappointed when Mumbai decided to keep the star pacer for the last game of IPL 2026. Bumrah, who did not enjoy the best of the IPL campaign, played 13 games and took four wickets. This was his worst performance since his first three seasons for MI.
MI vs RR: Update | Scorecard
When Sooryavanshi and Bumrah came face to face earlier in the season during a rain-affected clash in Guwahati, the RR opener hit the star pacer for a first-ball six, followed by another in the same over. Bumrah went wicketless in the game conceding 32 runs as Rajasthan won the match by 27 runs.
“Jassi (Jasprit Bumrah) is resting. Deepak (Chahar) is playing,” said Hardik Pandya at the toss.
MI also got Rohit Sharma as their impact sub as they decided to bowl first after winning the toss. Rajasthan brought back Nandre Burger, Ravindra Jadeja and Riyan Parag in a must-win game.
Jadeja missed the last two matches due to a niggle and returns to add more fire to the bowling unit. RR need to win the match to make the playoffs. A loss would mean elimination from the competition.
