The meeting called Minister of Ports VN Vasavan in the presence of Minister of Rybolic Saji Cherian and the officials concerned has proposed a lot of steps to ensure the safety of fishermen who embarked on the sea adjacent to the Vishinjam port.
The meeting was convened after warning security agencies that fishing vessels/ships near the canal would be in danger, because maternity positions with a length of up to 400 meters floating to the harbor and out.
The Government Keral, see SRO (MS) No 82/2025/Home of 24/04/2025 (SRONO.479/2025), decided to define the operational area of the Vishinjam International Port as access channels, anchors, basin, gas and other facilities. This area was declared limited under the 1923 official secrecy Act. This step is aimed at ensuring navigation security, securing naval assets and coexistence of business -based business activities and traditional fishing activities.
