The Telangana government on Wednesday appointed Mohammed Asadullah as the in-charge director general of the Telangana State Waqf Board.
Mr. Asadullah was recently removed from the post of CEO following the orders of the Telangana High Court. However, his repatriation to the maternity ward drew criticism from activists and politicians, including those from the Congress, as well as the Majlis Bachao Tehreek, which argued that the government should have challenged the order.
With the CEO in charge of calling board meetings and handling day-to-day operations, the TGWB found itself in a state of disarray.
Mr. Asadullah emphasized that his immediate priority was to start work on the UMEED portal. “The window for uploading documents to the portal is scheduled to close on December 6. As this is the case, work on the UMEED portal will be at the top of the priority list,” he said.
