Proddatur police arrested a man on Tuesday (May 5, 2026) on charges of allegedly killing his wife, allegedly citing her obesity as the reason.
According to police, the deceased, identified as Badripalli Padmaja (31), was poisoned to death by her husband, Badripalli Kiran Kumar. The defendant stated that his wife neglected her diet and became obese; in addition, she did not keep clean and often wandered around in her nightgown, police said.
