
On Friday evening, a 35 -year -old man was killed by a wild elephant near Penstock in Manjoor.
The deceased, identified as S. Sukunda Rao, worked as an administrator on a private farm in this area. Forest department officials said the elephant entered the property that wanted to consume crops grown in this area and attacked Rao as he approached him in an effort to chase him.
Rao died on the spot and forests gave his family a temporary compensation of 50,000 GBP.
