
A former private company employee was arrested for theft of 46 GBP Lakh from the goddess of Patigadda, while the Begumpet police were restored the entire stolen amount within six hours of the complaint.
DCP (North) S. Rashmi Perumal said the incident occurred on the night of 20-21. June. “The defendant, Giridhari Singh, 28, a native of Pureli Village in Sarai, Madhya Pradesh, broke into a private sun -steel by private limited entry over the gap on the roof.
He previously worked with the company for three years, but was removed six months ago because of inappropriate behavior, the officer added.
Mr. Singh was aware of the company’s practice to maintain liquid cash in the locker and used this knowledge to plan theft. After the complaint of the CEO of the company, the case was registered by the Police Begumpet.
Based on the CCTV shots and travel agency records, the police learned that Mr. Singh was trying to escape to his birth point through Secunderabad. “Bus stands and warehouses were alerted and its photos and details were shared with all police stations. Dhaba’s mobile phone used in Medchal and CCTV shots confirmed its movements. The bus driver also provided information.”
With the support of the Adilabad police, Mr. Singh was captured and arrested at the Maharashtra. A total of 46.4 Lakh was confiscated from its ownership.
The police recommended business owners to verify the background of their employees, install CCTV cameras, and secure their premises with the right fencing to avoid these incidents.
