
The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on Sunday announced the appointment of new district presidents and general secretaries. A significant number of them belonged to Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes and Minorities.
Out of the 25 parliamentary presidency posts, 14 were allotted to BCs, SCs, STs and minorities, 5 to women and four to sitting MLAs.
High priority was given to loyalists and those who had given dedicated service to the organization for decades. The appointment was made through a democratic process based on grassroots views and feedback.
