Police arrested a man in Tirur on Monday (March 16) for allegedly spreading communal hatred through WhatsApp. The arrested person is Sreejit VK, 46, of Karathur.
He allegedly circulated reports claiming that he was attacked by a group of people who forcibly closed his shop for offering food to three Kudumbashree workers during Ramzan.
Police investigation found that the accused was allegedly spreading misinformation to incite communal hatred.
He was produced in a Tirur court and remanded in judicial custody.
