Days after the Hindu reported on the state of the Institute of Mental Health (IMH), Erragadd, Minister of Health C. Damodar Raja Narasimha, ordered Telangana State Medical Services and Infrastructure Development Corporation (TGMSIDC) to perform a detailed report on the state of its travel buildings.
The Directive was issued during the inspection meeting held on Wednesday, where the discussion focused on the restoration of the Institute to his former character. The Minister ordered officials to prefer the creation of infrastructure, recruitment of human resources, repair equipment, installation of RO water race, strengthening hygiene and drainage systems, improving internal roads and strengthening equipment for patients on IMH. They were also requested for proposals for modernization of outpatient and inpatient services.
At the meeting were attended by Minister of Health Christina Z. Chongth, director of medical education A. Narendra Kumar, Superintendent Initha Rayiral and higher officials of the health department.
