Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation clears unauthorized structures

The Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation (MMC) has stepped up action against unauthorized constructions and encroachments on public roads, nalas, government lands and other public spaces in its jurisdiction.

On the directions of Commissioner T. Vinay Krishna Reddy, officials conducted enforcement drives in Malkajgiri, Uppal, Kapra and LB Nagar zones, removing unauthorized floors, sheds, gates, walls, protrusions, ramps and other obstructions.

In Malkajgiri zone, action was taken against unauthorized third floor at Fathenagar, Bowenpally, with 51 encroachments removed between Sainikpuri junction and Nirmal Nagar junction in Moula Ali. In Uppal and Kapra areas, officials cracked down on unauthorized extra floors and removed shelters, gates and walls.

In Uppal, 15 unauthorized sheds and shacks between Nagole Metro Station and Nalla Cheruvu have been removed. Unauthorized third floor structures were also removed in Chengicherla and Kuntloor while action was taken against unauthorized upper floors in Yamnamapet and Peddamberpet.

In the LB Nagar zone, officials removed 20 overhangs, 10 temporary shelters and five stands along the road from Bashyam School, Saroornagar, towards Dilsukhnagar bus depot. 34 encroachments including 12 ramps and 22 sheds were removed in Hayathnagar.

The commissioner directed officials to monitor the cleared areas to prevent further encroachments and asked the town planning, engineering and revenue departments to coordinate the protection of public roads, nalas, government lands and other public areas, the press reported.

He warned that unauthorized constructions and encroachments will require action as per the rules.
