Srishti Manipal Institute of Art, Design and Technology (SMI), a constituent unit of Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), an Institution of Eminence Deemed-to-be University, concluded a two-day international conference on design-led innovation for inclusive, secure and sustainable financial systems at the MAHE Bengaluru campus.

Titled “Design-Led Innovation to Support the FinTech Ecosystem in Emerging Economies”, the conference brought together policymakers, regulators, industry leaders, researchers, entrepreneurs, academics and students to discuss financial inclusion, digital payments, AI-driven financial services, green fintech, entrepreneurship and innovation-led policymaking.

S.Raman, Chairman, Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA), in his inaugural address announced that PFRDA is developing an AI-based pension advisory platform that will provide personalized financial advice. He said the platform could eventually expand to insurance and securities, making trusted financial advice more accessible to citizens.

Raman also announced that the PFRDA is reshaping the National Pension Scheme (NPS) onboarding process by simplifying registration and limiting options at the entry stage. In addition, he said, the regulator supports multilingual financial assistance with artificial intelligence that allows citizens to interact with advisory systems in their preferred languages. He further announced the upcoming launch of NPS Swasthya, a product linked to pension and health insurance to enhance financial and health security of citizens.
