Madin Academy launches ‘Operation Toofan’ anti-drug initiative

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala on Monday (September 28, 2026) launched the Madina Institute of Mental Health and Rehabilitation (MIMHAR) anti-drug initiative as part of the state government’s ongoing ‘Operation Toofan’.

Under the initiative, MIMHAR will provide free treatment to 50 people who want to overcome drug addiction based on the recommendation of the Home Secretary. Madin Academy has also agreed to collaborate with the government on anti-drug activities under the project.

Mr. Chennithala who visited Madina Academy here to condole the death of its Chairman Syed Ibrahim Khalil Bukhari Thangal’s mother Fatima Imbichi Beevi recalled her role in bringing up five scholars who served the society.

Students and teachers welcomed Mr. Chennithal to the academy. The student police cadets saluted him.

Chairman Madin Academy Syed Ibrahim Khaleel Bukhari presided over the function. Academic Director Madin Noufal Kodur, Syed Abdullah Habeebur Rahman Bukhari, Syed Ahmadul Kabeer Bukhari, VS Joy, MLA, UDF District Convener PT Ajaymohan and Global Relations Director Madin Umar Melmuri attended the function.
