When the opposition members continued their protest, Lok Sabha on Monday (August 11, 2025) passed two key accounts on taxation without any debate.
The Minister of Finance of the Union Nirmala Sitharaman introduced a draft of the Income Tax Act in Lok SABHA (most opposition leaders were detained on the march towards the Electoral Commission’s Challenge against the Bihar election roles and alleged election unlawful practices.
After returning, the members of the opposition continued to increase slogans in the well of the house. In the middle of DIN, both accounts for taxes were approved by voting.
Passed a sports account
Lok Sabha also passed the National Anti -Doping Act (amendment), 2025 and the National Sport Management Act, 2025. These accounts were also introduced when the opposition members were not present in the house. Two members spoke to support accounts. Since the opposition continued the protests later during the day, the accounts were approved by voting.
Previously, the Minister of Trade Unions for Youth and Sports Mansukh Mandaviya, while occupying two accounts for passage, said the government had made “several attempts” to submit legal regulations. “In the coming days when India will try to Olympics, it is important that our sports ecosystem is robust, transparent and responsible. This is a crucial step in this direction,” he said.
Against the rules: birla
When the house met in the morning, the members of the opposition were on their feet, lifted the slogans and held the labels. OM Birla speaker tried to start an hour of questions for about 10 minutes, but the opposition members were persistent in protests.
Mr. Birla then accused them of the “systematic disruption” of the House Proceedings for 14 days. “It is against the rules and regulations and against the democratic process. People have chosen you as their representatives to raise your problems and fulfill your hopes and ambitions, but you only protest,” he said before the house was detected until 14:00
Passing through important accounts: riji
The Minister of Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju focused on the opposition led by Congress for repeated disturbances and claimed that the government will now continue to pass important accounts in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.
“Every day we will not allow the country and parliament time to be wasted in one problem. That is why we will go through important accounts,” Mr. Rijiju told reporters at a press conference in a parliamentary complex.
The Minister said the government wanted to discuss important accounts, but repeated disruption of the opposition led to adjournment.
“You have caused a problem, do it for one day. What makes sense in raising the same problem every day,” the minister said.
Mr. Rijija stated a draft of the Income Tax Act, the draft Act on National Administration of Sports, the Transport Act, the National Anti -Doping Act (amendment) and the Act on the Manipur goods and services (amendment) as a priority of the government.
