Life of P. Jayarajan a story of resistance against communal forces: Pinarayi Vijayan

Leader of the Opposition Pinarayi Vijayan said that Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) leader P. Jayarajan had a history of fighting against communal elements and described Mr. Jayarajan’s latest book, Sanathanikalude Hindutva Vazhikal, as a major contribution to that struggle.

Mr. Vijayan was speaking after releasing a book here on Wednesday (May 20, 2026). He said it was extraordinary that Mr. Jayarajan, despite enduring years of personal attacks, survived these experiences and wrote such a book. Mr. Vijayan said that it was commendable that Mr. Jayarajan took the time to create the work with a research-oriented approach. He added that the book will inspire the young generation and contribute to anti-communal struggles.

Mr. Vijayan said the country was going through a period when communal forces were trying to destroy the unity of the people.

Shubhangananda Swami, General Secretary of Sivagiri Trust, received the first copy of the book. CPI(M) district secretary KK Ragesh presided.
