Life Mission Apartments in Keralam’s Chittur to undergo security check

The District Development Committee (DDC) has directed officials to get the Life Mission housing complex at Velappana under the Chittur- Thattamangalam municipality inspected by a qualified agency to check whether it is fit for occupation.

Sumesh Achuthan, Chittur MLA, raised the issue at the DDC meeting held at the Collectorate here on Saturday.

PP Sumod, Tharoor MLA, sought measures to prevent quarry vehicles from using panchayat roads in Kannambra and Kavassery to avoid the Panniyankara toll plaza. He said the movement of heavy vehicles on the roads poses a safety risk and causes damage to the roads.

Malampuzha Garden

A. Prabhakaran, Malampuzha MLA, asked the officials to complete the renovation of the Malampuzha garden by December 15. He also sought to complete the Akathethara flyover by November 1.

K. Preman, MLA Nemmara, asked the officials to submit reports within 10 days on the progress of the construction of the Government Boys’ High School at Nemmara and the Community Health Center building in the constituency.

K. Premkumar, Ottapalam MLA, raised the issue of drinking water shortage in Ambalappara, Lakkidi-Perur, Kadampazhipuram and Pookkottukavu, which receive water from the Sreekrishnapuram drinking water project.

Officials said the vented dam and other related facilities would be commissioned soon. They also assured that the drinking water project will be fully operational before the next DDC meeting.

Deputy Collector NN Mohammed Rafi presided over the meeting. Deputy Planning Officer M. Dwar and district officers of various departments were present.
