England Spin-Bowling All-Rounder Liam Dawson admitted that he almost gave up the hope of returning the test. Dawson debuted in a match where Karun Nair scored a triple century, but after three performances he was dropped, his last test before his withdrawal was the 2017 match against South Africa in Nottingham.
Since then, Dawson had to endure eight years before fate hit. After the Shoaiba Bashir injury after the Lord’s test, Dawson was a memory of the test group at the age of 35 for the fourth test at Old Trafford, Manchester.
When Dawson thought about his return, he said he was now focusing on taking things one day at a time and simply enjoying the game.

“Yeah, it’s nice to be able to contribute to the team early. I told a few people that at an age, at an age, I probably thought the test cricket was behind me – but being back was really cool. I’m just trying to enjoy every day,” Dawson said at a press conference after a daily game.
“I’m a better pitch”
Dawson had a solid trip on the day of 1 Manchester test and ended with numbers 15-1-45-1. The left arm spinner claimed the key goal of Yashasvi Jaiswal, who made compound 58 out of 107 balls. When Dawson thought about his performance, he said that his hard work on improving his bowling paid off and added that he was now considered not only as a better pitcher but more consistent.

“I think I’m a little more consistent now. I understand the playground better and I have a clearer feeling of what the players are trying to do. As you age, you will learn how to manage different game scenarios. In the last few years I have bowed, and as it naturally improved.
