Laura Loomer, a far-right personality, has accused Ukrainian soldiers of committing war crimes and President Volodymyr Zelensky of faking his Jewish faith. She once called on Russian President Vladimir Putin to take over the entire country.
But on Friday, Loomer released a friendly 45-minute interview with Zelensky recorded in Kiev, in which she expressed regret for spreading stories that benefited Russia and acknowledged spreading falsehoods about the war, according to CNN.
“I was fooled by Russian propaganda,” Laura Loomer, who said she was “very against Ukraine,” she told Zelensky, “and I believed a lot of false things about Ukraine.

Laura Loomer traveled all the way to war-torn Kiev, Ukraine, to interview Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after years of criticizing America for helping Ukraine in its war against Russia.
“I really wanted to see it up close and find out, wow, you know, is this country full of Nazis? Are they laundering our taxpayer dollars to Democrats? You know, is Zelensky a cockroach?” she said in an exclusive interview with the Daily Mail while in Kyiv.
“Where are you doing cocaine with Macron?”
During her interview, Loomer asked Zelensky if he had ever taken cocaine with French President Emmanuel Macron, citing pictures she had seen online.
“Of course never,” Zelenskyy replied with a laugh. “Of course not,” he said.
Laura Loomer’s extraordinary turn this week — from a provocateur who has often said she doesn’t care about the Russian invasion to a Ukrainian sympathizer siding with Zelensky — is the clearest sign yet that Maga has changed her mind about the war.

Loomer told Zelenskyy that her goal was to “counter some of the propaganda in real time” by asking blunt questions.
“I wanted to know if it was Russian propaganda. And I wanted to know if the video was real,” she explained when asked by the Daily Mail about the motivation behind the question.
After the interview, Loomer’s social media is now flooded with praise for Ukraine and Zelenskyi, who has sharply reversed her stance.
Loomer is one of Trump’s staunchest allies. On Thursday, Trump shared a promotional clip of the interview on Truth Social, writing: “Very good!!!
In one of X’s posts, Loomer said: “Russian propaganda is real. Nazism is literally illegal in Ukraine. I didn’t know that until I came here.”

She claimed: “Technically, Ukraine has stronger anti-Semitic laws than the US. I have met several rabbis in Ukraine who fled Russia because the state had them investigated by the KGB for being Jewish.”
The Telegraph called it “Laura Loomer’s extraordinary turnaround this week – from a provocateur who often said she didn’t care about the Russian invasion to a Ukraine sympathizer who sides with Zelensky”.
“This is the clearest sign yet that Maga has changed her mind about the war,” the report added.
