Kolkata Knight Riders suffered a major blow ahead of their must-win game against Delhi Capitals as Angkrish Raghuvanshi was ruled out of the match in Kolkata on Sunday, May 24. Raghuvanshi suffered a concussion and a broken finger during their win against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday 20 May. During the game, he was replaced by Tejasvi Singh Dahiya during KKR’s chase at Eden Gardens.

“Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the 2026 TATA Indian Premier League after sustaining concussion and a fractured finger on his left hand while attempting a catch during Kolkata Knight Riders’ match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday, May 20,” KKR said in a statement.

Raghuvanshi enjoyed his best IPL season for KKR this year despite their slow start to the campaign. He has scored 422 runs in 13 matches, with five wickets to his credit, and is KKR’s top performer this campaign.

WHO WILL REPLACE RAGHUVANSHI?

Raghuvanshi’s absence also comes as a blow to the wicket department as he has donned the gloves for most of the matches for KKR this season.

In his absence, it remains to be seen whether Kolkata will throw their weight around Tejasvi, who eventually made his debut during the MI clash as a concussion substitute. Finn Allen can also don the gloves but has mostly been used as a back-up batting option by the three-time IPL champions.

Apart from Tejasvi, KKR will also be tempted to bring Ramandeep Singh back into the team. The all-rounder played just eight matches for Kolkata this season before making way for Manish Pandey in the lineup.

Kolkata have a playoff qualification in their handsespecially if the results of the PBKS vs LSG and MI vs RR clashes go in their favour. If Punjab and Rajasthan lose their matches and KKR beat DC at home, they will advance to the playoffs.
