Conspiracy to eliminate the votes of the poor through SIR: DKS

Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar on Saturday alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched to eliminate the votes of the poor through Special Intensive Review (SIR).

The Deputy Chief Minister, who is also the KPCC president, told reporters here that he had warned the party workers to be vigilant. “We are working to create awareness among MLAs and BLAs (booth level agents) about SIR. Meetings are being called and dates have already been announced. That’s why we have come to create awareness. Everyone has to apply. Otherwise citizens will lose their votes.”

He said such deletions have occurred in other states. “If the right to vote is lost, citizens will be deprived of many benefits including pension and Gruha Lakshmi scheme. That is why we are working to spread awareness,” he added.
