The Pune police’s investigation into the murder of Ketan Agarwal, who was allegedly driven to his death from Lohagad Fort by his fiancee Siya Goyal and her lover Chetan Chaudhary on 18 June, also included the questioning of Siya’s brother Sahil Goyal. He was questioned for 10 hours on Friday before being allowed to return home.
“We summoned him for questioning in the morning. He was allowed to leave late in the evening,” an official from the rural police station in Lonavala was quoted as saying by PTI. He added, “Sahil knows Chetan and we checked certain things with him. He was questioned for almost 10 hours.”

- Police said Sahil knew about their relationship for several months and asked Siya to end it as she was engaged to Ketan. “They used to play cricket together and later Chetan befriended Siya through Sahil. Sahil told us that he came to know about Siya and Chetan’s relationship a few months back. Worried about its consequences, he advised his sister to end the relationship as she was already engaged to Ketan,” HT quoted police sources as saying.

The mobile phones have reportedly been sent to a forensic laboratory in an attempt to recover deleted chat records, they added.
“During our investigation, it came to light that both the accused had deleted their chats from their phones before June 18 and after the Lohagad incident. The chats were deleted from the trash bins of their respective phones,” the police officer mentioned.

6. The red electric car used by Ketan Agarwal on the day he was allegedly murdered during a trip to Lohargarh Fort is being examined by the Pune police as part of their investigation, ANI reported. The vehicle was earlier featured in a video that surfaced on social media where Ketan and his fiancee Siya were seen driving with the sunroof open. The footage is said to have been shot by Ketan himself during a long drive shortly after buying the car.

7. The Maharashtra government has approved the setting up of a fast-track court and appointed senior advocate and Rajya Sabha member Ujjwal Nikam as special public prosecutor in the case. The move came after the victim’s father met Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Pune and sought speedy justice in the matter.
8. During the meeting, the victim’s father, Vishal Agarwal, called for the death penalty for the accused and said that he was told that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) has already been set up to probe the case.
“I urged the CM to at least give the accused the death penalty. The CM assured me that this case will be expedited. I was told that an SIT has been formed in the case,” he mentioned.

A police official said it was revealed that Chaudhary was lying, adding that both eventually confessed their roles and described the sequence of events.
Meanwhile, Siya and Chetan have been arrested and are in police custody as investigations continue.
