The intensive state government campaign aimed at alleviating the conflict of people from human and dismay has triggered almost 18,000 petitions that were collected from all over Kerala during their initial phase. Complaints concern nine categories, including alleviating the conflicts of wild animals, compensation, cutting of trees in plantation land and soil -related problems.
In his statement, the Minister of Forest Ak Sasendran stated that two inspection meetings were held at the level of Panchayat and complaints were solved that could be resolved at the level and division level. The remaining problems will be solved in the following phases.
According to official data, a total of 17,955 petitions were registered throughout the state. The northern circle, which consists of Kannur, Kasaragod, Kozhikode, North Wayanad and South Wayanad, recorded the greatest participation and registered 7,246 petitions. The Eastern Circle, including Nilambur, Mannarkkad, Nenmara and Palakcad, represented 4,131 petitions, while the central circle recorded 3,647 petitions.
The second phase of the program will start on Wednesday. Over the next four days, the complaints will be categorized, after which will take place from 6 to 10 October. The exercise will be followed by various departments and other meetings. The second phase will focus on solving complaints that can be solved with the cooperation of other departments and local authorities at the district level.
