
Amid escalating violence in West Asia, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday (March 2, 2026) urged all emigrants from Kerala to fully comply with the guidelines given by the rulers and local administrations of their country of residence. They should be in constant contact with Indian embassies and consulates and only accept official information provided by them.
He expressed sincere solidarity with the people of West Asian countries and appealed to the Kerala diaspora not to believe and spread baseless news or rumors through social media or otherwise. The state government has extended full support to expatriates and their families back home. The government is working with the Union Ministry of External Affairs to ensure the safety of expatriates.
NoRKA Roots is stepping in to provide basic assistance. The state government has also asked the members of the Loka Kerala Sabha in the Gulf countries to take necessary interventions to help the people. He emphasized that every household in Kerala has at least one person related to the Gulf countries and wished that the rulers of the respective countries would be able to overcome the crises through wise decisions based on humanity and mutual understanding.
