
Former Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) general secretary MJ Job, who quit the Congress over its decision to support former Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) leader G. Sudhakaran in Ambalapuzha constituency, joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Tuesday. BJP state president Rajeev Chandrasekhar handed over the membership to Mr. Job and several other leaders who joined the party at a function held at its headquarters.
B. Jayakumar, former Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) state secretary and former director of the Kerala State Welfare Corporation for Forward Communities, also joined the BJP. Other leaders who will join include Athira Anilkumar, who recently contested as a UDF candidate from Chennithala in the local body elections, Congress Seva Dal Palakkad district vice president Pranesh Rajendran and 40 others.
