Telangana President Jagruthi K. Kavitha received a notice in connection with the hearing of the Delhi Consumer Policy case in the Delhi High Court.
On Thursday, she was personally handed over the Supreme Court notice by a team of CBI officials informing her about the hearing of the case regarding the CBI petition on March 16 in the Delhi High Court.
Ms. Kavitha switched to “X” in the notification received and wrote, “Today around 12.30 pm I received a notification from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informing me that a petition has been placed before the Hon’ble High Court on 16 March 2026. I am consulting with my legal team and will respond accordingly through official channels.”
She further added: “As someone who believes that the truth will prevail, I intend to fully cooperate with the legal machinery. Serving a notice when an appeal to a higher court is filed against an investigating authority is a prescribed legal procedure and I would request all relevant stakeholders not to misconstrue it, which could undermine the sanctity of our legal framework.”
The Delhi High Court recently issued notices to AAP chief and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Ms Kavitha and other accused who were acquitted by the Rouse Avenue court. The dismissal was challenged in the Delhi High Court by the CBI.
Ms. Kavitha, then in the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS), was arrested as one of the conspirators in the Delhi liquor politics case in March 2024 from her residence in Hyderabad. She was in prison for five months and was later released. She recently severed her ties with the BRS after being expelled on charges of anti-party activity.
