On Wednesday, August 20, in the Karnataka district, a tragic incident developed, where a 32 -year -old woman lost his life after the man allegedly drove the car into the lake after her rejection of the proposal for marriage, NDTV reported.
The victim, Shwet, was in a vehicle with the accused, Ravi, a married man he knew for several years during work. According to officials, Ravi enraged when Shweta refused his proposal.
Shweta, who was separated from her husband, lived with her parents at the time of the incident. The scary event occurred in the Chandanahalli area.
The report added that Ravi reportedly pushed Shwet in the last few months to enter into a relationship with him, and insisted on letting his wife to be with her. Despite his perseverance, Shwet reportedly rejected his progress.
Ravi lured Shwet into his car on Wednesday after he was enraged by refusal and went to Lake Chandanahalli. While Ravi managed to swim to safety, Shweta drowned tragically, the officials said.
Dramatic videos and photos from the scene showed that the rescue teams work late into the night in a desperate attempt to save it.

During the police interrogation, Ravi claimed that the car had fallen accidentally into the lake and escaped, but could not save Shwet. But the Shwet family filed a complaint and accused him of murder. On the basis of their statement and the initial investigation of the police, she registered the case of murder and arrested Ravi.

In July 2025, a 21 -year -old man in Navi Mumbai reportedly killed the husband of a woman who refused his proposal for marriage. The victim’s body was found into the stream and the accused was arrested within 36 hours of the crime.
In February, a 25 -year -old woman was killed by her ex -boyfriend at home in Oish’s Balasore after refusing his proposal for marriage. The victim had previously filed a complaint against him, but no preventive measures were taken, Toi reported.
