Elaborate security and traffic management arrangements have been put in place for the Chief Minister’s swearing-in ceremony at the Lok Bhavan on Wednesday (June 3), with the Bengaluru City Police working closely with the Traffic Police to ensure the smooth running of the event and maintain law and order.

City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh said extensive security arrangements have been made in accordance with the protocol issued by the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).

Limited capacity
Due to limited seating capacity, entry is restricted to invited guests only. Passes have already been issued to VIPs, VVIPs and other categorized invitees and security deployment has been planned accordingly. The commissioner also clarified that there will be no roadshow associated with the swearing-in ceremony.
Senior police officials said additional police platoons and companies of reserve forces have been deployed in central parts of the city to ensure comprehensive security coverage. Traffic restrictions and diversions will be in place on selected roads around the venue to facilitate the movement of dignitaries and security convoys. Pedestrian access will be restricted in certain sections during the event as part of the safety protocol.
To help manage the crowds and allow public viewing of the ceremony, LED screens were installed at designated locations. Police familiar with the local area along with dedicated VIP security teams have been deployed at key locations. Senior officers will oversee the arrangements and continuously monitor the situation to ensure that the swearing-in ceremony goes off smoothly, safely and without any untoward incident.
No-fly zone
The Bengaluru city police has declared a temporary no-fly zone around the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) office and Shangri-La Hotel in the city ahead of Congress leader and Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi’s visit on June 3.
City Police Commissioner Seemant Kumar Singh issued an order under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS) banning the operation of drones, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), gliders, small aircraft and unscheduled aircraft within one km of the two places.
Mr Gandhi will attend programs at the KPCC office and stay at the Shangri-La Hotel during his visit to Bengaluru. According to the order, a temporary no-fly zone will remain in effect for the duration of the visit. The restriction applies to all drone and low-flying aircraft operations within a designated radius around the KPCC office and hotel.
