In what can lead to a fresh wheel of paint between the state and the center, the Chief Minister Siddaramaiah announced on Friday that the government will bring a white book on the allocations made for centrally sponsored and other programs.
In response to the debate in the legislative assembly of central allocations and development, he stated that the main minister said that the demand for a White Book was to create public awareness of the real situation with regard to the central allocation.
He said earlier that the center shared 75% of the project costs of centrally sponsored schemes, while states carry the remaining 25% of the costs. Gradually, however, the central share reached the new minimum of Narendra Modi-LED government to the range of 40% to 42%, he said. Similarly, although the center was to share 50% of the Namma Metro costs, in fact the share of the state increased because the center reduced its contribution, claimed.
