
Kannur district president of Kerala Students Union (KSU) MC Athul, who is facing cases of sexual assault and financial cheating based on a woman’s complaint, has alleged that he was subjected to threats and harassment following his protest against Health Minister Veena George.
The Kannur Vanitha Police registered a case based on a complaint lodged with the District Superintendent of Police (Kannur City). The complainant, a native of Kannur, alleged that Athul sexually assaulted her during a trip and borrowed ₹1.6 million on the pretext of marriage, which he allegedly failed to return.
In a Facebook post, he called the case a “targeted hunt” linked to the protest. He also said incidents from the friendship period had been “misinterpreted” and added that he would refrain from discussing further details in public as the matter is before the court. .
