Former Vice President Kamal Harris acknowledged that Joe Biden often appeared “tired” during her Presidency, but refused to claim a plot to cover his decline. The notes come from the excerpt of her upcoming memory, 107 days, published by the Atlantic on Wednesday.
No covering in the White House
“Many people want to spin the narrative about some big plot in the White House to hide Joe Biden’s disease,” Harris wrote. “Here’s how I lived. Joe Biden was a smart man with a long experience and a deep belief who was able to fulfill the duties of the President.”
Harris stressed that even on difficult days Biden was “deeper informed, capable of performing judgment and much more compassion than Donald Trump for his best.”
Biden’s age and burns
Harris, however, admitted that Biden’s age was obvious.
“At the age of 81, Joe tired. At that time, his age showed in physical and verbal tripping,” she wrote. She pointed to a widely criticized debate against Trump and noted that she came on “two backs together to Europe and flight to the west coast for Hollywood fundraiser.”
“I don’t believe it was an inability. If I believed it, I would say it. I am as loyal as I am with President Biden, I am loyal to my country,” Harris added.
Frustration inside the administration
Harris also revealed her personal dilemma in the Biden Council when he weighed a re -election. “Before Biden finally fell out of the race, I believed that I advised him to end, my boss at that time would be considered naked ambitions, perhaps as poisonous disgrace,” she wrote.
Vulnerability
Biden’s age was the main vulnerability before his debate in 2024, which accelerated the call from the Democrats to withdraw from the race. Harris eventually replaced him as a democratic candidate, but continued to lose the elections to Donald Trump.
