The Government of Andhra Pradesh has appointed Justice Ch. Manavendranath Roy, Judge, High Court of Andhra Pradesh, as Executive Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA).
The Law Department issued GO Ms. No. 1694 dated 10 November 2025 on the recommendation of the Chief Justice. Justice Manavendranath Roy succeeds Justice Ravi Nath Tilhari, who previously held the post.
According to the order, the Governor of Andhra Pradesh, in consultation with the Chief Justice, approved the nomination of Justice Manavendranath Roy under Section 6(2)(a). (b) of the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 and rule 3(i)(b) of the Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authorities Rules, 1995.
Justice Manavendranath Roy, who was earlier serving as a Judge of the Gujarat High Court, was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court and was sworn in on 27 October 2025. By convention, the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court is nominated as the Executive Chairman of APSLSA after the Chief Justice.
