National Education Society president GS Narayana Rao urged the students to develop a sense of curiosity and critically examine the reality around them.
He was speaking after inaugurating Utthana-2026, the tenth anniversary celebration of the Management and Cultural festival organized by the MBA department at JNN College of Engineering in Shivamogga recently.
Mr. Rao emphasized the importance of instilling curiosity in a competitive era. “The youth is the ambassador of the next generation. The responsibility of passing on the rich culture and values to the next generations lies on the shoulders of the youth. They should fulfill their responsibilities,” he said.
He appealed to the students not to forget the culture and traditional values cultivated over centuries. The real purpose of education was to instill humility and wisdom, he believed.
Dr. Y. Vijay Kumar, Principal of the college, presided over the programme. NES Treasurer DG Ramesh, Directors TR Ashwatha Narayana Shetty, HC Shivakumar, Research Dean SV Satyanarayana, Head of Department MBA Srikanth and others were present.
As part of the event, students participated in various competitions, which, apart from sports events, included business plan preparation, best manager, business quiz, painting, group dance, cooking without fire and singing.
