Senior J&K BJP leader and Leader of Opposition (LoP) Sunil Sharma’s remarks where he called J&K Chief Minister Omar Abdullah as ‘shahzada’ (prince) on Friday (April 24, 2026) drew a sharp reaction from the ruling National Conference (NC).
“Mr Sharma, to stay in the limelight, calls the Chief Minister-elect, who won with a historic mandate, ‘shahzada’. This reflected his political wisdom. LoP must raise the bar of language and maintain political decorum. It is also facing inordinate delay in restoration of statehood,” NC leader and lawmaker Salman Sagar said.
