Janamashtami Noida Traffic Police Board: What to Avoid as Widespread Vehicular Diversion Near ISKCON Sec 33 NTPC | Today’s news

As India prepares to celebrate Janmashtami on Friday, the Noida traffic police issued a travel advisory on Thursday announcing traffic restrictions and diversions around major temples and sites as authorities expect large crowds across the city.

In a post on X, the traffic police shared an advisory saying, “This is to inform all concerned that Shri Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated in various temples on September 4, 2026. The main events are to be held at ISKCON Temple (Sector 33) and Sanatan Dharm Temple (Sector 19 where a large number of devotees are expected).

As per the advisory, vehicular movement from Gijhor Chowk towards the ISKCON temple will remain closed from Thursday till the end of Janmashtami celebrations.

2. Vehicles heading from Gijhor Junction to Atta Underpass can take left at Gijhor Junction and right at Hoshiyarpur Junction towards city center or take right from Gijhor Chowk via Somerville Junction to reach their destination.

3. Vehicles planning to attend the event at the ISKCON temple are advised to park in the designated parking area next to the Adobe building and proceed to the temple on foot.

4. Vehicles arriving at the VVIP parking lot can enter through the Sector 33/34 junction, park their vehicles at the Shilp Haat parking lot and proceed on foot.

5. Vehicles traveling from Sector 31/25 junction towards Sector 60, 62 and Indirapuram, Ghaziabad via Gijhor junction have been advised to take a left turn at Sector 31/25 junction, take a right turn at Spice Mall junction and proceed via Adobe Chowk and Sector 242/23 to their destination of Gijhor/2 junction.

6. The traffic police stated that the traffic on the elevated road will be smooth without interruption. However, entry and exit from the elevated road via the ISKCON/NTPC loop will be restricted on Friday.

7. Vehicles will also not be allowed to travel from Gijhor towards ISKCON Temple or from Sector 31/25 towards Gijhor.

Traffic arrangements around Sector 19, Sector 2 Temples

The traffic police also said that special arrangements will be in place around the Sanatan Dharam Temple in Sector 19. Depending on the situation, vehicular movement will be restricted between Sector 19/27 DM Chowk and Rai Residency as well as from DM Chowk to Telephone Exchange.

Vehicular movement between Sandeep Paper Mill Chowk and Golchakkar Chowk will also be restricted as necessary depending on the traffic situation.

However, for the duration of these diversions, safe passage will be allowed for emergency vehicles, including rescue service vehicles and firefighters.
