Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar held talks with his Saudi Arabian counterpart Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud on Sunday (September 13, 2026) and discussed the conflict in West Asia. They also reviewed bilateral relations.

The Saudi foreign minister was in Delhi to attend the last day of the BRICS summit meeting.

In a post on social media, Mr Jaishankar said he was “delighted” to meet Prince Farhan Al Saud and that they “exchanged views on regional and global developments as well as the progress of our bilateral cooperation”.

The two foreign ministers are understood to have discussed escalating tensions in West Asia, particularly attacks on a critical Saudi Arabian oil pipeline by Houthi militants.

Iraq said the latest attacks on Saudi Arabia’s East-West pipeline were launched from its territory.

Since the conflict involving Iran disrupted shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, the East-West pipeline has served as a critical bypass for Saudi Arabia’s oil exports.
