The defeat of the Women’s Reservation Bill drew criticism from the BJP, while the Congress and BRS blamed the BJP with Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy describing the meeting of opposition parties to stop the controversial laws as a “red letter day” in Indian history.
In a post on social media, the chief minister praised the leadership of Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge for uniting democratic forces and opposition leaders to “avert a national disaster”.
