
Indian students in Tehran remembered the initial hours of the conflict between Israel and Iran and stated that the sky was filled with drones because the situation “worsened every minute” in the middle of the increase in tensions in the Middle East. They saw “explosions, outages and sky filled with drones”.
Almost 140 Indian students were present at the University of Medical Sciences on the first day of the Israeli military event. While the students recognized support from the university higher officials, they also referred to the Indian government to evacuate due to increasing uncertainty and escalating tension in the region.
What did Indian students say in Iran?
“The condition deteriorated here every minute,” one of the students recalled.
Another student said, “On Friday dawn, around 3:20 in the morning, we heard an explosion. It was a huge sound. When we looked out of our windows, there was black smoke and when we went down the stairs, we heard more explosions.
The student remembered: “Our university (Tehran University of Medical Sciences) was very helpful. Once the explosions occurred, our vice -chair came to check and calmed us down. In the evening our dean also arrived and assured us that nothing would happen. That was a very dangerous night.
Students who come from different regions throughout India studied at various universities for professional courses. They said they were in contact with the Indian Embassy, which provided them with full support.
Although the student remembered the government’s efforts to bring back Indian students during the conflict of Russia-Ukrajina, the student said, “We believe in Indian power and we really want to be evacuated.”

Iran’s intelligence agency IRNA said that the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched an extensive operation of drones and missiles “True Promise 3” in response to the Israeli event. Its aim is to target the Israeli fuel production facility for fuel and energy supply centers. The strikes were held in direct retaliation against Israeli “aggression”, she said.
