The crew of the Aidsel ship Madleen linked to Gaza, including the Swedish activist to the climate of Greta Thunberg and several well -known international volunteers, was detained and brought to the Israeli port of Ashdod on Monday evening after a questionable capture at sea.

According to the Israeli Foreign Ministry, the activists underwent medical inspections on arrival. Madleen, part of the Flo Fleedom Flotilla coalition, known against the Israeli naval blockade in Gaza, openly documented its journey online before it was captured. Activists on board were aware of the possible consequences. Last Friday, the vessel sailed from Sicily, but was stopped before it could arrive in Gaza, underlining the Israeli firm policy of blocking all unauthorized maritime access in the territory.
