The 15-year-old prodigy smashed 12 sixes during his breathtaking 103 off just 37 balls, setting a new benchmark for Indian batsmen in the tournament. With this, Sooryavanshi surpassed the previous record of 11 sixes jointly held by Murali Vijay and himself when he hit 11 against Gujarat Titans in 2025. The innings also put him ahead of notable performances from Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Shubman Gill and Abhishek who struck in Sharma’s 10th IPL. Sooryavanshi’s innings was the driving force behind Rajasthan Royals’ impressive total of 228 for 6. After Sunrisers Hyderabad opted to bowl first, he set the tone immediately by taking on Praful Hinge in the opener and smashing four consecutive sixes in a fiery start that signaled his intent. Despite the early loss of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sooryavanshi found strong support from Dhruv Jurel and the pair stitched a decisive 112 runs for the second wicket. Jurel’s 51 off 35 balls complemented Sooryavanshi’s aggression, allowing Rajasthan to maintain a relentless scoring rate. The youngster brought up his half-century in just 15 balls during the innings and continued to dominate the bowling attack with fearless strokeplay. He reached his second IPL hundred in just 36 balls, bolstering the boundary with five fours and 12 towering sixes before being dismissed for 103. Late contributions from Donovan Ferreira ensured that Rajasthan comfortably passed the 200-run mark, finishing at 228 for 6 in their 20 overs.
