IPL 2026: Shubman Gill loses cool as Gujarat Titans' costly errors hand Rajat Patidar two lifelines

Shubman Gill and Rajat Patidar (BCCI/IPL Photo) NEW DELHI: Shubman Gill looked visibly furious after Rajat Patidar was given two lifelines during the IPL 2026 Qualifier 1 clash between Gujarat Titans and Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Dharamsala on Tuesday.Dramatic moments unfolded in the 13th over bowled by Prasidh Krishna as Patidar batted for 20 and missed opportunities proved costly for GT. On the very first ball of the over, Patidar almost conceded a wicket to GT. Prasidh bowled a big sweep at middle stump and the RCB skipper tried to whip it towards the leg side. However, he closed the bat face too soon and ended up getting a massive leading edge. The ball flew high over the keeper’s head as Jos Buttler ran back and Jason Holder sprinted over third man. But both fielders failed to judge it properly and the ball fell safely between them, allowing Patidar to escape and claim two runs.Just two balls later, Patidar got another lifeline. Prasidh again smacked the ball short to hard length and Patidar went for an aggressive pull shot. He failed in the middle and only managed the top edge towards the deep. Kagiso Rabada attacked from the box, got both hands on the ball and slid forward but couldn’t hold on to the catch.Gill looked visibly frustrated after a second missed opportunity as GT’s sloppy field start gave Patidar two crucial reprieve in a high-pressure knockout clash.Patidar scored a half-century off just 21 balls.
