A total of 350 players have been finalized for the Indian Premier League 2026 (IPL 2026 Auction) as BCCI released the list on Tuesday, December 9. 1,390 players initially expressed interest in the bidding event, which is scheduled to take place on December 16 in Abu Dhabi.
After a shortlisting process, the final number was limited to 350 players, of which 240 were Indian and 110 were overseas recruits. The group includes 224 uncapped Indian players and 14 uncapped overseas players, ensuring a strong mix of experienced options and emerging talent.
Ten franchises will have 77 free slots available during the auction, including 31 positions reserved for overseas players. Intense bidding battles are expected with teams aiming to rebuild or strengthen ahead of the 2026 season.
IPL 2026 Auction: Complete List
The highest reserve price bracket remains at INR 2 million with 40 players opting to enter the auction in this premium bracket. As always, the big name stars in this band will be among the most sought after on auction day. The auction proceedings will begin on Tuesday at 13:00 UAE Time (14:30 IST), marking the start of another key chapter in the build-up to IPL 2026.
The final list includes 35 new names that were not part of the original list and one surprise among them is Quinton de Kock. The wicketkeeper batsman played for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) last season after being bought in a mega auction for Rs 2 crore. However, he was released by the franchise after an underwhelming season that saw him score just 152 runs from eight innings.
Cameron Green, Matthew Short and Steve Smith headline the list of Australian players hoping to attract bids at the auction. Even Josh Inglis, whose availability remains uncertain due to his wedding, surprised his former franchise by putting his name forward. The extensive list also includes England’s Jamie Smith and Jonny Bairstow, New Zealand stars Rachin Ravindra, Daryl Mitchell and Devon Conway, as well as Sri Lankan talents Wanindu Hasaranga and Matheesha Pathirana, among others.
