
Since July 1, all new and temporary electricity connections in rural areas will be under the jurisdiction of Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (Bescom) require installation of an intelligent meter, as ordered by the KARATAKA (KERC) regulation commission.
According to the issue of 15 February of this year, the deployment of intelligent meters in urban areas in Jurisdiction Bescom, including Bengalur City.
With this latest directive, the initiative is now expanding to rural regions under an energy tool. Applicants for new or temporary electricity connection can purchase intelligent meters from shops with authorized shops and continue with the formalities of the connection, the edition said.
KERC has issued instructions for implementing an intelligent meter on March 6 last year and since then installations have been installed in phases.
Function
Depending on the release, intelligent meters that differ from traditional models are equipped with a GPRS/RF -based communication system for data collection and offer server and cloud connections.
