The State Electric Council of Kerala (KSEB) decided to create a specialized partial division for monitoring the measurement of intelligent electricity in the state.
In the continuation of the first phase introduction of intelligent measurement within the medium -supported distribution sector (RDSS), the KSEB decided to create an intelligent meter and geographical information system (GIS) within the information and technological wing and monitoring teams at electric circles.
According to the decision, there will be monitoring teams at the level of circle and the monitoring team at the corporate level “H trouble -free coordination at multiple levels for efficient planning, implementation and monitoring in accordance with the technical standards and the project timeline”.
At the beginning of this month, the state energy company announced that it launched the first phase that includes government consumers, high voltage consumers (HT) and feeders. The first meters were piloted on two government contexts under the Puthenchantha electric section in Thiruvananthapuram and seven meters of feeder in the 220 kV substation in Kalamassery.
In the first phase, around three meters of lakhs will be installed. Almost 1.5 lakh single -phase meters will only be installed in government offices. The KSEB announced the plans to complete the installation of the transformer border meter until March 2026 and HT consumer meters by August 2026.
After moving to the implementation of intelligent measurements to Totex (Total Surevenderiture), the Kereral government approved the CAPEX model under which the meters will be installed in multiple phases of the CSEB.
