The goddess Kanaka Durg, chairman of the deity at the peak of Indrakeeladri, was decorated and worshiped on Friday (August 8, 2025) as Sri Varakshmi Devi. The temple priests carried out Sanctum sanctorum privately and later opened the door for public Darshan.
The temple authorities released all Darshan queues without cost to ensure smooth and trouble -free movement of the devotees.
The “Pavatrotsavam” rituals also began the executive Officer of the Seedanayak and his family offering “Pavatrams” (sacred multicolored fibers) to the goddess under the leadership of Sthanachary V. Shivaprasad Sharma and Vaidika Committee.
According to the tradition of the festival, it serves as an annual spiritual purification, which atone for any attacks in everyday rituals and avert negative energy. “Pavatrams” – woven from black, blue, red, yellow and green thread – are assumed to repel evil forces. The ceremonies include the sowing of nine sacred seeds, continuous Vedic singing and decorating the deities with purified pavatrams over the Mantra Homa and fire rituals.
