Indiramma houses to replace shacks across the state

Telangana Housing and Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy said that efforts will be made to ensure that no one lives in shacks in Wanaparthy.

Under Phase II of the Indiramma housing scheme, 1,500 houses per assembly constituency would be sanctioned along with 500 more to replace shacks. A total of 32,000 families live in shacks in the state.

After handing over the sanction letters to the beneficiaries of the housing scheme on Wednesday, the minister said housewarming celebrations were held for 1.35 million houses built under Phase I of the scheme and slabs were laid for another 1.25 million.

Along with ministers Jupally Krishna Rao, Vakiti Srihari and others, he laid the foundation stone for the Tahalsidar office and the Venkateswara temple. He also paid tribute to former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy.

The Minister said that a program will be held in Khammam on Saturday (July 10, 2026) which will see the payment of ₹ 9,300 crore under Rythu Bharos to the farmers.
