The Defense Acquisitions Council (DAC), chaired by the Minister of Defense Rajnath Singh, adopted the acceptance of the necessity (AON) for 10 designs for acquisitions of capital worth 1.05 Lakh Crore through an indigenous source on Thursday (July 3, 2025).
It was the first DAC meeting after the Sindoor operation, which improved the skills of the armed forces.
“The Aons was assigned to the order of armored vehicles for the renewal, the electronic war system, the integrated common inventory management system for tri-services and missiles on the surface-air,” the Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The Council meeting program was to strengthen Indian possibilities of air defense along the Pakistani border. The original rocket response (QRSAM) for the Indian Army worth 30,000 GBP Crore has been approved.
These orders will provide higher mobility, efficient air defense, better supply chain management and expand the operational readiness of the armed forces.
“The Aons have also been awarded for the order anchored mines, the measurement of mining wheels, super fast weapons and submersible autonomous vessels. These orders of orders will allow mitigating potential risks represented for maritime and business vessels,” the statement said.
“In order to provide further impulse of indigenous design and development, Aons were assigned in the purchase category (Indian indignually designed and manufactured),” he added.
