(Image via X/@blind_cricket) India completed their unbeaten run to lift the inaugural Blind Women’s World T20 Cup by beating Nepal by seven wickets in the final at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium in Colombo on Sunday. The title capped a flawless campaign in which India outplayed every opponent in the six-team competition. Opting to bat first, India tightened control early and restricted Nepal to 114 for 5 in 20 overs. Nepal managed just one boundary in the entire innings, with Sarita Ghimire holding the effort together through her 35 off 38 balls. India’s bowlers kept the pressure on in all categories and ensured that Nepal never raised the score. The chase was straightforward and emphatic. India reached 117 for 3 in just 12.1 overs, propelled by Phula Saren’s match-winning 44 off 27 deliveries, an innings with four boundaries. Her knock settled the contest well before the closing stages and kept India well ahead of the required pace. The final completed a dominant run of the tournament, where India beat Sri Lanka, Australia, Nepal, the United States and Pakistan in the league stage before claiming a nine-wicket win over Australia in the semi-final. Nepal entered the final after overcoming Pakistan in the other last four matches. Co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, the World Cup began on November 11 and moved through New Delhi, Bengaluru and Colombo. Matches were played under standard blind cricket rules, with teams fielding B1, B2 and B3 players and using the audible white plastic ball typical of the format. Pakistan’s Mehreen Ali finished among the top performers of the competition, scoring over 600 runs, including a 78-ball 230 against Sri Lanka and 133 against Australia.
