India won its first individual gold at the 2026 Asian Games as Neeru Dhanda won the trap title

Neeru Dhanda secured India’s historic women’s trap shooting gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games, the nation’s first individual gold medal at the tournament. In her Asian Games debut, Dhanda set an Asian Games record score by conceding just two shots out of thirty to finish with twenty-eight hits. Her win gave India its fifth gold medal of the Games and made her the first Indian woman to win an individual trap shooting medal at the Asian Games, joining Randhir Singh as only the second Indian trap shooter to achieve an individual gold.
