The Ministry of Science and Technology noted that “the collaboration focuses on circulation and the transition to sustainability through joint research and innovation programs in areas such as biological processes and materials, innovation centers, ocean energy, including offshore wind and hybrid systems, carbon capture, storage and use, and waste recovery”.

A separate collaborative project agreement on ocean energy and offshore wind energy has been concluded between SINTEF institutions and several CSIR institutes, including the Structural Engineering Research Centre, the National Aeronautical Laboratories, the National Oceanographic Institute and the Fourth Paradigm Institute. This project involves CSIR financial support of approx 341 million.

The Ministry of Science and Technology said “the collaborative force aims to strengthen India’s capacity in offshore renewable energy technologies and contribute to the nation’s renewable energy and carbon neutrality goals”.

In addition, CSIR, the Academy of Scientific and Innovative Research (AcSIR) and the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) have signed a joint statement of intent entitled “Collaboration in Science, Technology and Innovation for the Green Shift”.
